Buy Rolex Deepsea: the history of the model

The Rolex Deepsea was launched in 2008 and has since become one of the Swiss brand's most robust watches. It's built to dive to extreme depths without the case giving way under the pressure of the water — rated to an impressive 3,900 metres.

The Rolex Deepsea is currently available in one size (44 mm), and its silhouette has remained largely unchanged over the years. The case is made in Oystersteel, with a date display on the dial and a Cerachrom ceramic bezel.

Inside the watch sits the calibre 3235, one of the finest movements being produced today. It's a fully automatic movement with a power reserve of around 70 hours and is COSC-certified, meaning it has been independently tested for accuracy and precision. Because the current Rolex Deepsea also uses a Parachrom hairspring (anti-magnetic) and Paraflex shock absorbers, the watch is well protected against shocks, temperature variations and more.

The options for personalising a Rolex Deepsea are intentionally limited. The watch comes exclusively on the Oyster bracelet, with a choice of two dials.

As a daily watch, the Rolex Deepsea is hard to beat. Its robust case and bracelet make it a real pleasure to wear. It sits so comfortably on the wrist that, after a while, you barely notice you're wearing it.
