Which Rolex models are most popular?

Several Rolex models are especially sought-after today. We've put together a brief overview for you below.

  • The Rolex Submariner Date (126610LN) is one of the most in-demand watches on the market today. It's a model that has been around for decades and remains a firm favourite among enthusiasts. One version that has become especially popular in recent years is the 116610LV, better known as the Rolex Submariner 'Hulk'. The Submariner is a true icon of the brand, and according to many experts it will remain one for years to come.
  • The Rolex GMT-Master II is another icon alongside the Submariner, with well-known variants such as the 'Batman' and the 'Pepsi'. These timepieces have seen a sharp rise in popularity and therefore often command high prices on today's market. Both the 'Batman' (blue and black bezel) and the 'Pepsi' (red and blue bezel) are available with an Oyster or Jubilee bracelet. Alongside these colour variants, the GMT-Master II with the black bezel (reference 116710LN) is also very popular.
  • Another highly sought-after and relatively rare model within the Rolex line-up is the Cosmograph Daytona. This watch has its roots in motorsport and is available in steel, steel and gold, or fully in precious metal. The Daytona is one of the most popular and most beloved models Rolex has ever produced. The vintage Paul Newman version in particular is currently among the most expensive watches in the world.
  • The Rolex Day-Date has long been known as 'The President's Watch', because many American presidents have worn it during their time in office. Made entirely in precious metal, it's regarded as the ultimate status piece within the Rolex range. What sets it apart from other models is the dial: it shows both the date and the day of the week written out in full.
  • Another true classic within the brand's line-up is the Rolex Explorer. It's a watch built to simply keep going, worn by adventurers around the world for mountaineering, cave exploration and more. That makes it a genuine Rolex icon, and a firm favourite among collectors.
  • Rolex later developed a more extreme variant designed for diving: the Rolex Sea-Dweller. With this model you can dive to depths of 1,200 metres, an impressive feat of engineering. The line has been in development since 1967 and still has its place in Rolex's collection today. The 'Great White' edition, with its red text on the dial, is particularly sought-after among collectors.
  • The Rolex Air-King is one of the brand's lesser-known models, but it has been in production since 1957. A new version was launched in 2016, featuring a 40mm case and powered by the well-known calibre 3131 movement. Older Air-King models from before 2000 are especially popular with collectors, although the post-2000 watch is a great piece in its own right.
